That this sound American ... It is the second recipe that I make from my book I love Sugar, and again with success. I decided to respect the names as they come in the book. is not more than a bathing sponge cake with lemon syrup and gives an extraordinary moisture and a crisp acidity. I liked a lot.

Ingredients: -2 Eggs

-3 / 4 cups sugar
-2 / 3 margarine
-grated lemon
-1 and 1 / 2 cups self-rising flour. I added flour and a half on the drive.
-1 / 2 cup milk
For the syrup:
-1 and 1 / 4 cup powdered sugar
-1 / 4 cup lemon juice.
As we prepare:
Preheat oven to 180 ยบ.
Beat eggs with sugar and margarine until they are older and are spongy.
Add the lemon zest and milk, beat up a bit. Add the flour and baking powder if not self-rising flour. We beat them all again. Pour over a mold
square and bake for about 30 minutes, depending on the height that takes the cake.
To prepare the syrup, heat in a saucepan the lemon juice and sugar until the latter has been undone. It should not boil.
When the cake is ready, take it out of the oven, prick with a skewer many times and we pouring the syrup over the surface.
We let cool slightly and serve. To serve cut it into strips and sprinkle with icing sugar.
